ADVISORY!!!!

Monday, February 20, 2012

If there is only one thing that you read on my blog and spread around, please let it be this.

There is another person out there using my nickname: LuvinCreations. Her name is Bella, and she owns a group on Yahoo called "Creative Memories". Let me reiterate, this is NOT me!

All variations that I use: LuvinCreations, Luvin'Creations, Luvin' Creations, MissLuvz, LC

All tags that I create follow a similar format for filenames: lc12_artist-tutorial_name
Although this may not be exact, it's similar for every tag that I have made or will make in future. Also you will find somewhere on my tags: LC'12

The 12 is just the year that I created the tag in. If I have to include hidden blurps in my tags in future, such as a watermark, I will do so just to avoid this trouble. In the future, from this date forth, any and every graphic that I make will have "image information" in it. This is not removed when saved, no matter how many thousands and millions of times something is saved.

I have been copyright compliant 100% since 2003 (just after my best-friend Bobbie passed away), at least a year before she created her group on Yahoo!.
Some may have a bit to say about becoming CC and not always being so, but you show me a single person who has been playing with graphics as long as I have, who has no stains on them. You won't, so shush about it. Be glad I have become so and learned and grown.

Anyway, my point is this: If you want to be ensured it was created by ME and not this person who wouldn't know anything about copyright if it up and slapped her in the face, CONTACT ME. I don't want to forget to check an email account for a few months, or years and end up dealing with over 3 hours of reading and replies to emails. I do not have the time for it, with work, school (going to 2 colleges) and family. I have enough on my plate that I don't want to deal with bullshit like this.

To those who emailed me that claim to know me, SHAME ON YOU! How could you claim to know me, and send me shit like that? I will be the bigger person in this and won't broadcast the people's names and some of the horrible things they had to say about me, I will leave it at this... You are horrible people who should look at themselves and their own lives before degrading me.

(I apologize for the viciousness of this post, but I needed to get this information out. I can be a massive bitch, and very cruel when provoked. In fact, I'm rather amazed at how KIND I was in this whole post and in the email replies that I made tonight.)

Reaching Out

Sunday, February 5, 2012

I have noticed lately that a lot of the old PSP tutorial writers, scrap kit makers and various other creators have given up on their sites.

I can understand the need to make room for new things, or just not having the time to maintain a blog or site anymore, or just the lack of funds to do so (for those who were paying to do so). So I am making this offer to anyone who would like to take me up on it. If you would like me to host your pages and files on my site, I will do so. You just need to contact me.

I am doing this for many reasons, the biggest being, I hate seeing the resources that were once available and used in tutorials being lost and no longer available. These creations are all a piece of history, and have taught many people new and creative things.

Each person that wants me to host their items will get their own subdomain, and they don't have to do anything other than point me to their files or send me the files they need hosted. In an email, make sure that you state clearly that you are giving me permission to host your items. I do not and will not claim anything as my own, ever.

You can contact me by email at miss.luvz[@]gmail.com or on yahoo messenger (missluvz05).

Please don't let your hard work fall into the ether. There are so many wonderful things out there that it would be a shame to lose it all no matter what the reason!

Valentine's 2012 Tut-a-thon

Time for the next Tut-a-thon, it was posted as of the 20th over in the Zone Groups. It's much shorter than the last one that I attempted (Christmas 2010) so I'm pretty sure I'll be able to knock it out easily. The links will be able to be found in the navigation areas, as well as in this post!

Copyright Awareness

Monday, January 23, 2012

As many of you know, I'm big on copyright awareness. Recently, I started going to college for Multimedia Design Technology with a specialization in Web Design. One of the classes (four hours worth) was on Copyright.

I came away with alot of useful knowledge after those four hours. At certain points in time, you may see me post something from a lab activity I did for class. Those results are covered under the "Fair Use Act" and I will mark them as such.

The whole point of this post isn't to rile up people, or to have people screaming that I am not Copyright Compliant, or any of the hundreds of other nasty things that can be said in the PSP community. It's because I have seen posted somewhere, I can't recall where at the moment, another misconception about "Fair Use". I asked my instructor several times, in varying ways the same question, "When doing this do we have to give credit to the creator?" Everytime, no matter how I asked it, I was told, "No. You do not because this is for non-profit educational purposes."

Now, the difference between me and the "general public", I am enrolled in an accredited college, and the pieces are being used for my educational purposes. I can post them, but I can not use them as a "portfolio" to gain employment.

In the end, I guess what I am saying is this: If you have questions, contact an attorney or and education professional that is knowledgable on the topic. Don't always rely on a company, group or a friend's blog for your information and guidelines.

Step 7:

Merge > Merge All Flatten
Resize by 60%
Resize again by 60%

Step 10:
Effects > Plugins > Simple Filters > Quick Tile

Apply the same square edge that you did to your photos/images.

Step 14:

Step 18:
Add a soft drop shadow
Horizontal & Vertical - 0
Opacity - 40
Blur - 10

Blue Without You

Monday, January 10, 2011

This tutorial was written by Margie in 2006. It's concept is copyrighted to Margie. Any creation you make from my ideas are yours. You may print out this tutorial for your own personal use, but please do not copy it in any way to put online, pass out or rewrite without my permission or worse yet attempt to claim as your own.

Tube of Choice. Tube(s) used in this tutorial is by David Saavdra. You must have an MPT license to use it.

This was written for psp 7 but will work in other versions.
For this tutorial you will need:
Paint Shop Pro
Animation Shop

Font of your choice.

Ok we are ready to start.

REMEMBER TO SAVE OFTEN

Step 1:
Open your tube and duplicate. Close out the original.

Step 2:
Open a new image 200 x 200.

Step 3:
You're going to want to choose 3 coordinating colors from your tube, for future use.
Flood fill with a medium color of those you picked.

Step 4:
Effects > Texture Effects > Blinds

Step 5:
Setting your foreground color to white and the background color to the pale color
that you chose from your tube:
Image > Add Borders:
Symetrical - 1
Change to white: Symetrical - 3
Change back to your pale color: Symetrical - 1

Step 6:
Promote background to layer.

Step 7:
Image > Canvas Size: 500 x 500
(You can crop it down later, be sure to give yourself enough room to work with.)

Step 8:
Paste your tube as a new layer.

Step 9:
Add a soft drop shadow to your tube layer only.

Step 10:
Move your square and tube around until you have them positioned the way you would
like them. Keep in mind that at the top or bottom you're going to have
your boxes and line of text.

Step 11:
Add a new layer. With your paint brush and your pale color,
make a few boxes along the top or bottom of your blinds box.
The more boxes, the more frames, but the more interesting.

Step 12:
Using your magic wand, select all of your boxes.
Selections > Modify > Contract by 1 (one).
Hit delete once. Do not deselect!

Step 13:
Selections > Modify > Contract by 1 (one).
Flood fill with your pale color.
Deselect

Step 14:
Layers > Merge > Merge Visible

Step 15:
Add a small line of text on the opposite side of where your boxes are.
I used the font Pixellete at size 6 and a dark contrasting color from my tube.

Don't duplicate yet! You'll make more work for yourself and get confused if you do!
Step 16:
With the medium color that we used for our blinds background, set in the foreground:
We're going to use our magic wand and select all of our box parts that we made earlier.

Step 17:
With your paint brush set to 9, fill the first box.
Duplicate this layer.
Fill the next box.
Continue this pattern until all of the boxes are filled.

Step 18:
Decide where you would like your name, and crop your image leaving enough room
for you to add your name in Animation Shop.

Step 19:
Save your image as a .psp file.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Open your image in animation shop.
With PSP still open, and using your text tool, type in your name, using the dark matching
color (this is the third color we chose).
Rotate and apply any effects you want on your name.
Copy your name and paste it into Animation Shop as a "new animation".
Press Control + C to refresh the image on your clipboard.
Activate your full image, and press Control + A
(this will select all of your frames)
Click EDIT > PROPOGATE PASTE
(This must be selected to get the exact placement in ALL frames.)
Press Control + E
Place your text where you would like it, then click in the frame.
If you don't click where you want it, then your name will stay "stuck" to your cursor
and will drop where ever you click next.
I changed my frame properties to 20 to slow it down a little.
Save as a .gif and your done!

Always List

If anyone was curious, I do have an always list. An always list is where you can get my tag creations with your name added onto them without having to ask, and saving me from having to send out requests and wait for people to follow all the rules that are entailed in doing those.

If you are interested in receiving my tags all the time follow these two simple steps:

  1. Fill out the form located here
  2. Join this group ( Luvin' Creations ) - This will be only emails from me. So the best thing you could do, is make a folder in your mail program and set it up so that emails from that group (mailing list) will always go there.

Rules:
  • You do NOT have to save every tag (I know there will be times that I make a tag that you just don't like. It happens.)
  • You MUST leave a comment on the tag in Fotki, even if you chose to not save it. If you don't leave a comment (a simple "thank you" works best) I don't know if you got the tag or saw that it was available.
  • If I find that tags aren't being picked up by the same person, I will give a warning about it after 10 tags without comments.
  • After 20 tags with no comments, you will be removed from my list of names. You are welcome to email me, and explain the situation and I will put you back on, but it will be a probationary kind of thing.
  • If you are unable to pick up tags for some reason, let me know! I will make a note of it and put them into a special folder for you until you can pick them up. I, more than most, know that life happens.
**RULES are subject to change if the need arises.**
